Fort Custer Recreation Area – Stewardship Volunteer Workday

January 19, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Contact: Heidi Frei 517-202-1360

GPS coordinates: 42.324901, -85.351755.

Join us in our efforts to protect restored prairie from invasive black locust populations. We will work in teams to cut and stump treat these small, pesky trees. No experience is necessary to participate! Please plan to work outside for the duration. Because we are working in open fields, please also dress for both snow and wind. Meet at park headquarters.

Volunteers are asked to register by using the volunteer registration form or via email freih@michigan.gov. Additional information and the Calendar of Volunteer Stewardship Workdays is available via the DNR website www.michigan.gov/dnrvolunteers. For more information about invasive species please visit michigan.gov/invasives.

A Recreation Passport is required for vehicle entry into Michigan state parks. To make a camping reservation, visit www.midnrreservations.com or call 1-800-447-2757.

Please Note: Dates occasionally change and events may be canceled due to inclement weather and other reasons. Please call the park to confirm dates/times prior to your arrival.
