Stewardship Day

Join us in celebrating National Public Lands Day a little early by giving back to your local public lands at the Gourdneck State Game Area. Roll up your sleeves and gain hands-on experience in land stewardship by removing invasive species like Glossy Buckthorn. Your efforts will help the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) and the Michigan United Conservation Clubs (MUCC) create space for native plants to thrive. Bring your work gloves and gear, and come ready to make a difference! Close-toed, waterproof footwear, waders, and waterproof pants are highly recommended. Be prepared to work outdoors for at least three hours. Lunch and all necessary supplies for invasive species removal will be provided.
